Chocolate – The Long Journey

Cocoa beans are the most important ingredient, because even if all the other ingredients that go into the mix are first class, where cocoa is not of high quality chocolate that is not good. In a process that requires precision since its inception in the beginning, when the seeds are planted until the end, when the chocolate is even a small accident can make the difference between chocolate is good, safe, and will knock your socks chocolate off.

In a process such as coffee, cocoa beans are harvested, fermented and roasted. While this is essential for the production of chocolates, it is more or less mechanical and rule bound. When the beans are roasted, they are ground. This means that the cocoa beans are shelled, and for most recipes, ground. When the beans are ground to secrete a thick liquid called cocoa liquor, which is used by chocolate manufacturers. The liquor can be transformed into three different things, cocoa butter, cocoa powder and chocolate. The first two are less dependent on the quality of the beans, and therefore less noticeable usually only used to make beans. The liquor is of higher quality beans that are produced in chocolate.

Just because you have the quality of cocoa liquor does not mean you have high-quality chocolate. To get from the liquor in the bars or boxes delivered ended on Valentine’s Day, the finest chocolate you must first add a few ingredients. At this stage, most makers add sugar and then regrind sand to avoid the mixing of textures and flavors. After this grinding, the chocolate is heated and mixed a bit low boiling temperature, 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This mixture is heated in the area known as conching. During conching, the chocolate begins to take on good and refined taste of the best known examples. Depending on the desired final product, chocolate can be a reservoir for an hour or even an entire day or more.

Conching itself is where most of the flavor of chocolate in the future. Secret chocolate cooking processes can be different. It is understandable that some chocolate makers may be very specific about his technique for monitoring.

After conching, the chocolate cigar has become whatever the mind is the chocolate, milk chocolate, black chocolate, cooking chocolate, or anything else. Every step along the way, however, must be done carefully as the above.

As you can see, there is much that goes into a simple bar of chocolate. The whole process takes a lot of attention and the slightest mistake can spell disaster, or at least say that this or that bar will be slightly less celestial.
